About

Our laboratory was established more than 47 years ago. Since then, its name and the corresponding field of scientific research were changed three times:

1964 – 1975 Laboratory of molten salts electrochemistry
1975 – 1985 Laboratory of solid state electrolytes
1989 - 2003 Laboratory of electrochemistry of sensor structures
2003 - 2008 Laboratory of solid state ionics
 From 2008 Complex of laboratories of solid state ionics

At laboratory today:

Dr. of Science 4
PhD (chemistry, physics) 24
Engineers 6
PhD students 7
Students 3

At present the following lines of investigation are under development in our laboratory:
• Low-temperature solid electrolytes with cation conductivity and mixed electronic-ionic conductors: synthesis, structure and properties investigation.
• Polymer and composite membranes possessing protonic conductivity, superionics: synthesis, structure and properties investigation
• Mechanisms of ionic transfer in solid state: experimental investigation and theoretical modelling.
• Behaviour of electronic (mixed) conductor / solid state electrolyte interfaces in different gaseous media.
• Equipment and investigation approaches for electrode processes investigation in systems which include solid state electrolytes.
• Semiconducting oxide and chalcogenide electrode materials: surface morphology, adsorption and chemical processes on the surfaces.
• Solid-state electrochemical devices: fuel cells, supercapacitors, batteries, gas sensors.

Scientific and educational work:
- In the laboratory more than 30 PhD and four doctoral dissertations were made (over the past 5 years 15 Ph.D. and 3 doctoral) and more than 90% of postgraduate works were made in time;
- More than 15 degree and 30 course works were made in the laboratory;
- The course of lectures, seminars and workshops, "Chemistry and physics of ion conductive connections" was developed (Dobrovolsky Yu.A., Ukshe E.A., Levchenko, A.V. Lyskov N.V.);
- 6 tutorials and workshops were prepared;
- Lectures "Polyfunctional materials", "Alternative Energy" are conducted (Dobrovolsky Yu.A.);
- Research and production practice is held for students of Moscow State University and Ivanovo State University;
- Each year more than 50 students of Moscow State University, Ivanovo State University, Saratov State Technical University, Southern Federal University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology pass through the laboratory;
- Classes for pupils of school 82 are offered, since 1995 more than 100 students became MSU students (in school 82 classes conducted Dobrovolsky Yu.A., Levchenko A.V.);

Scientific and organizational work:
Since 1994 at the laboratory conducted the Meeting "Fundamental Problems of Solid State ionics" dedicated to the memory of Professor E.A. Ukshe is held.

  1. July 1-4 the laboratory performs 10th European Conference on quick ion transport (Chair - Prof. Dobrovolsky Yu.A.)
  2. July 5, 2012 11th Meeting will start (Co-Chairs: D.Sc. Grafov B.M., D.Sc. Bukun N.G.)
